Jasmin Brandt wrote her dissertation about the topic “Multi-Armed Bandits for Trustworthy and Resource-Efficient Algorithm Configuration” at Paderborn University. Currently, she continues working on deriving theoretical guarantees for blackbox optimization, e.g. for Algorithm Configuration or Hyperparameter Optimization. For this, she proposes and uses methods in the field of Multi-Armed Bandits and in particularly proves and transfers the theoretical guarantees to other fields. One of many application is to control parameter in Water Distribution Networks in the project “Water Futures” founded by the European Research Council (ERC).
